Yogi said that the loss of life, livestock, and economic damage to crops and property caused by heavy rains, lightning, and storms must be assessed immediately. He ordered that once the assessment is complete, the compensation process must be initiated and funds disbursed within 24 hours to provide swift relief to the affected people.

The administration has been instructed to immediately provide financial assistance in cases of deaths due to lightning strikes, as per the government’s disaster relief policy. Furthermore, compensation proceedings should be expedited by assessing animal deaths and crop damage.

The Chief Minister also directed officials to visit the affected villages to interact with the people and understand their needs. He emphasised that if any family needs medical assistance, temporary housing, or other essential support, it must be provided immediately.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning strikes battered several areas of the state on Thursday and Friday, resulting in casualties and loss of livestock. Crops and houses were also damaged in several districts.

Yogi said that the government’s priority during a disaster is to provide immediate relief to affected families. He reiterated that officials must work with empathy and sensitivity, ensuring that no eligible person is deprived of government assistance.
